Brief introduction:Eastern Times was first issued on June 12th, 1904 in Shanghai and the first newspaper royalists established in China after the Reform Movement of 1898, with Di Baoxian as manager and Luo Pu as chief writer. In 1921 after Huang Bohui bought up all the facilities of Eastern Times, the newspaper shifted its focus to sports and gossips for entertainment. After the fall of Shanghai in Anti-Japanese War, the newspaper continued through inspection from Japanese troops and was eventually closed on September 1st, 1939.
